Seeking safe and effective outdoor mosquito solutions to help consumers enjoy their yard and outdoor spaces without the annoyance and inconvenience of mosquito bites. Mosquitos are a common nuisance and disease spreading insect. In addition to being vectors of disease, one of the main reasons we want to tackle this pest is to allow people to enjoy outdoor activities more frequently – e.g., eating outside, spending time with family, and watching outdoor sporting events. Here in P&G Ventures, we are looking for existing, in market solutions which exist globally that are specifically designed to kill or repel mosquitos.

Seeking Glue-free and Plastic-free closure of paper packaging

We are looking for a technology to seal paper packaging materials (paper only with no plastic coating) without using traditional glues or any other additive. For a sustainable packaging application, we're looking for a technology to seal or crimp kraft paper without using glue or plastic coating applied on the paper. Ideally, we want to seal 100% untreated paper without adding any other chemicals. Our preferred solution would be a folding of the packaging material

Seeking Upskilling and Next-Generation Activated Carbon Fiber Technology

BACKGROUND P&G competes across many consumer-packed goods categories where malodor is a top consumer concern. We believe that incorporating volatile organic compound (VOC) adsorption technologies into products could serve our consumers’ needs for odor control. We have evaluated numerous adsorbent technologies and activated carbon fiber (ACF) is of particular interest. NEED DESCRIPTION We are seeking to consult and potentially partner with an expert in activated carbon fiber to understand the impact of precursors, processing conditions, and methods of incorporating ACF into textiles and/or nonwovens on volatile organic compound adsorption performance, durability, and large-scale manufacturability. As a first step, we are interested in the identified SME giving a seminar on the basics of ACF to educate the organization. Longer-term, we are interested in co-developing and testing various ACFs in our in vitro and in vivo methods to link the various parameters of ACFs to their odor control performance. Below are more specific descriptions of the expertise and capabilities we are seeking.

Sustainable mulching of liquid application for weed control in perennial crops.

A sustainable mulch has been developed and validated that improves the existing mulches being free of environmentally harmful substances. This mulch is based on the blends of agricultural by-products and paper slurry and is applied in pasty conditions on the soil thus creating a sheet of the desired thickness on the soil. Weed control is high when the sheet dries out rapidly. At present, work is focused on designing a machine prototype to be able to apply the blends on the soil in a mechanized way.

Alphanosos rapid discovery technology against COVID 19

Alphanosos’ AI guided rapid discovery technology, validated in antimicrobials and anticancer, is expected to develop within 3 weeks of experimental work with a virology partner an anti-COVID-19 treatment composed of a synergistic mix of extracts of edible plants, chosen for being available in large amounts and with good traceability. Such treatment is, therefore, and also thanks to the innovative elaboration process, immediately available to enter large curative clinical trials, to be followed by country-wide deployment in a matter of weeks, for curative and for preventive goals (because of safety which is guaranteed by the edible nature of the mix).
